Sustainability
Hannon Electric has been on board with sustainability since opening our offices in 2007. With today's heightened awareness and a national call to action, we have implemented recycling programs and energy saving fixtures and habits that have become essential elements in our culture.
We collaborated with the City of New Bedford and the Massachusetts Housing Authority to install interior and exterior lighting upgrades that ultimately saved more than $498,000. The entire project was featured in the March/April 2013 edition of Green Building and Design.
In 2013 we created a new division within Hannon Electric, Hannon Energy Solutions, to manage the growing segment of our business. Our energy audits encompassed hundreds of buildings and 3,000+ apartment units, produced an amazing 2.5 million KWH savings and a projected $400,000 savings in our customers' annual electric bills.
Our business values propose to inspire, engage and equip our employees and customers to innovate for sustainability. We are proud to say that in 2015 we saved an estimated 2,742,864 KWHs for our customers collectively.
A major investment was made to the building in 2020 when it was outfitted with solar panels which will ensure that we can continue to substantially reduce out energy costs.
